حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ جُذَامَةَ بِنْتِ وَهْبٍ قَالَتْ
حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَاسٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغَيلَةِ فَنَظَرْتُ فِي فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ فَإِذَا هُمْ يُغِيلُونَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاكَ الْوَأْدُ الْخَفِيُّ وَهُوَ (إِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ)

✧ I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among some people while he was saying: "I had intended to forbid al-ghīlah (sexual intercourse with a nursing mother), but I looked into the Persians and Romans, and found that they have intercourse with their nursing mothers, yet it does not harm their children at all." Then they asked him about ʿazl (coitus interruptus), and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "That is the hidden waʾd (burying alive), and it is: 'When the buried girl is asked' (Qur'an 81:8)."
