حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي النَّوْمِ بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِ فَأَرَاهُ يَقُولُ أَحُرِّفَ الْقُرْآنُ يَا أَسْمَاءُ؟ قُلْتُ كَذَلِكَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي الْمُحَرِّفُ وَالْمُسْتَقِيمُ فَرَدَّدَ ذَلِكَ عَلِيَّ مِرَارًا كُلُّ ذَلِكَ أَقُولُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي الْمُحَرِّفُ وَالْمُسْتَقِيمِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي كَيْفَ بَنُوكِ؟ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يُقْبَضُونَ قَبْضًا شَدِيدًا فَأَرَاهُ نَظَرَ إِلَى بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِهِ كَأَنَّهَا حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ أَعْطِيهَا شِفَاءً لِابْنَيْهَا فَأَمَّا السَّامُ فَإِنَّى لَا أَشْفِي مِنْهُ فَأُرَاهَا أَعْطَتْنِي حَبَّةً سَوْدَاءَ كَالشُّونِيزِ أَوْ كَحَبِّ الْكُرَّاثِ وَتُرَابًا أَحْمَرَ وَسِمْطًا مِنْ لُؤْلُؤٍ قَالَتْ «فَنَحْنُ إِذَا اشْتَكَى أَحَدٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ أَسْمَاءَ فِي الْقَبَائِلِ كُلِّهَا يُؤْخَذُ لَهُ قَدَحٌ فَيُمْلَأُ مَاءً ثُمَّ يُجْعَلُ فِيهِ تُرَابٌ أَحْمَرُ وَحَبُّ كُرَّاثٍ وَشُونِيزَ وسِمْطُ لُؤْلُؤٍ ثُمَّ يُسْكَبُ ذَلِكَ الْمَاءُ عَلَيْهِ»

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ in a dream after his death, and I saw him saying: “Has the Qur’an been altered, O Asmā’?” I said: “It is so, by my father and mother—the altered and the upright.” He repeated that to me several times, each time I saying: “By my father and mother—the altered and the upright.” Then he said to me: “How are your sons?” I said: “O Messenger of God, they are seized with a severe seizure.” I saw him look toward one of his wives, as if she were Ḥafṣah bint ʿUmar, and he said: “Give her a cure for her two sons. As for death, I do not cure from it.” I saw her give me a black seed like black cumin or like leek seed, red earth, and a string of pearls. She said: “So we, whenever anyone among the children of Asmā’ in all the tribes falls ill, a bowl is taken for him and filled with water, then red earth, leek seed, black cumin, and a string of pearls are put in it, then that water is poured over him.”
