حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ

عَنْ عُرْوَةَ وَفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا خَرَجَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ هَاجَرَتْ وَهِيَ حُبْلَى بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَدِمَتْ قِبَاءَ فَنُفِسَتْ بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بِهَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ حِينَ نُفِسَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِتَحْنِكَهُ «فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهَا فَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِتَمْرَةٍ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَمَكَثْنَا سَاعَةً نَلْتَمِسُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ نَجِدَهَا «فَمَضَغَهَا ثُمَّ وَضَعَهَا فِي فِيهِ» فَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ دَخَلَ بَطْنَهُ لَرِيقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ «ثُمَّ مَسَحَهُ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَعْدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ لِيُبَايِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهُ بِذَلِكَ الزُّبَيْرُ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ رَآهُ مُقْبِلًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ بَايَعَهُ» بَابٌ

✧ From ‘Urwah and Fatimah bt. al-Mundhir that they said: Asma’ bt. Abi Bakr set out when she emigrated while she was pregnant with ‘Abd Allah b. al-Zubayr. She arrived at Quba’ and gave birth to ‘Abd Allah there. Then when she had given birth, she went out to the Messenger of God ﷺ so that he could chew a date for him. “The Messenger of God ﷺ took him from her and placed him in his lap. Then he called for a date.” A’ishah said: We waited for a while looking for it before we found it. “He chewed it and then placed it in his mouth.” The first thing that entered his stomach was the saliva of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Asma’ said: “Then he wiped him, prayed over him, and named him ‘Abd Allah. Then later, when he was seven or eight years old, he came to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ. Al-Zubayr had ordered him to do that. The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled when he saw him coming toward him, and then he accepted his pledge.” [Chapter]
