حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّيْمِيُّ ثنا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَلَقِيتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ سَأَلْتُهُمْ أَيْنَ يُرِيدُ؟ فَقَالُوا يَخُطُّ لِقَوْمِكَ مَسْجِدًا فَرَجَعْتُ فَوَجَدْتُ قَوْمِي قِيَامًا فَقُلْتُ مَا بَالُكُمْ؟ فَقَالُوا «خَطَّ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَسْجِدًا بِرِجْلِهِ وَأَقَامَ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ خَشَبَةً غَرَزَهَا فِيهِ»

✧ I went to the market and encountered the Prophet ﷺ among his companions. I asked them where he was heading, and they said: "He is going to mark out a mosque for your people." So I returned and found my people standing. I said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ marked out a mosque for us with his foot, and he set up a piece of wood in the qiblah that he had planted there."
