حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ الْأَحْنَفِ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ

جَاءَتْ أَسْمَاءُ مَعَ جَوَارٍ لَهَا وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهَا فَقَالَتْ أَيْنَ الْحَجَّاجُ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَيْسَ هَهُنَا قَالَتْ فَمُرُوهُ فَلْيَأْمُرْ لَنَا بِهَذِهِ الْعِظَامِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُثْلَةِ» قُلْنَا إِذَا جَاءَ قُلْنَا لَهُ قَالَتْ فَإِذَا جَاءَ فَأَخْبِرُوهُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَخْرُجُ فِي ثَقِيفٍ كَذَّابٌ وَمُبِيرٌ»

✧ Asmaʾ came with some slave girls of hers, and her sight had gone. She said: Where is al-Hajjaj? We said: He is not here. She said: Tell him to order these bones for us, for I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ forbidding mutilation. We said: When he comes, we will tell him. She said: When he comes, inform him that I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “There shall come forth in Thaqif a liar and a destroyer.”
