حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثنا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِلنِّسَاءِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ «مَنْ كَانَتْ مِنْكُنَّ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الرِّجَالُ رُءُوسَهُمْ» قَالَتْ «لِأَنَّهُ كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ حَادَّةٌ فَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا تَقْصُرُ عَنْهُمْ فَتَبْدُو عَوْرَاتُهُمْ»

✧ She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying to the women on the pulpit, "Whoever among you believes in Allah and the Last Day, let her not raise her head until the men raise their heads." She said, "Because there was mutual hostility between them, so they would wear clothes that would cover their bodies and uncover their private parts."
