✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ stopped at Dhu Tuwa, Abu Quhafa said to a daughter of his from his youngest children: "O my little daughter, show me Abu Qubays." She said—and he had lost his sight—"so I brought him up to it." He said: "O my daughter, what do you see?" She said: "I see a gathered black mass." He said: "That is the cavalry." She said: "And I see a man moving among that black mass, coming and going." He said: "That, O my daughter, is the commander who directs the cavalry. Hurry me to my house." She said: "The cavalry met him before he reached it." She said: "On the girl's neck was a necklace of silver, and a man met her and snatched it from her neck. When the Messenger of God ﷺ entered Makkah and entered the mosque, Abu Bakr brought his father, leading him. When the Messenger of God ﷺ saw him, he said: 'Why did you not leave the old man in his house until I came to him?' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of God, he is more deserving of walking to you.' He seated him before him, then wiped his chest and said to him: 'Submit (become Muslim).' His head was like a white-flowered plant. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Change this whiteness of his hair.' Then Abu Bakr stood and took his sister by the hand and said: 'I adjure you by God and by Islam to return my sister's necklace.' No one answered him. He said: 'O my little sister, count your necklace as a loss, for by God, trustworthiness among people today is scarce.'"
