حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ

كَانَ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَقِفُ عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ ويُلْزِقُ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى صَفْحَتِهَا فَيَقُولُ يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ مَا أَجِدُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ عَلَى دِينِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ غَيْرِي وَكَانَ تَرَكَ عِبَادَةَ الْأَوْثَانِ وَأَكْلِ مَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَكَانَ يُفَدِّي الْمَوْؤُودَةَ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ وَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ
