Safiyyah b. Huyay b. Akhtab, Wife of the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَا ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ صُهَيْرَةَ بِنْتِ جَيْفَرٍ قَالَتْ

خَرَجْنَا حُجَّاجًا فَمَرَرْنَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ فَسَأَلْنَاهَا عَنِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ فَقَالَتْ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ» انْقَضَى حَدِيثُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَرَضِيَ عَنْهُنَّ

✧ We went out for Hajj and passed by Madinah. We entered upon Safiyyah bint Huyay and asked her about beverages. She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade nabidh made in earthen jars.' Thus ends the hadith of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, ؓ.
