حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا وَكِيعٌ وَأَبِي قَالَا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ
أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ عُمَرَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ وَكَانَتْ أَوَّلَ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَوْتًا وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يُدْخِلُهَا قَبْرَهَا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَنْ يُدْخِلُهَا قَبْرَهَا؟ فَقُلْنَ مَنْ كَانَ يَرَاهَا فِي حَيَاتِهَا فَلْيُدْخِلُهَا قَبْرَهَا

✧ He prayed with Umar over Zaynab, and she was the first of the Prophet's ﷺ wives to die. He liked that he himself would lower her into her grave, so he sent to the wives of the Prophet ﷺ asking who should lower her into her grave. They said: 'Whoever used to see her in her lifetime should lower her into her grave.'
