حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ
فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِي أَنْعَمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ} قَالَ «أَنْعَمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ بِالْإِسْلَامِ وَأَنْعَمَ عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالْعِتْقِ» {أَمْسَكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ} قَالَ قَتَادَةُ جَاءَ زَيْدٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ زَيْنَبَ اشْتَدَّ عَلِيَّ لِسَانُهَا وَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُطَلِّقُهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اتَّقِ اللهَ وَأَمْسَكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ» وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُطَلِّقَهَا وَخَشِيَ قَالَةَ النَّاسِ إِنْ أَمَرَهُ بِطَلَاقِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ {وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَ وَاللهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَاهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى زَيْدٌ مِنْهَا وَطَرًا} قَالَ لَمَّا طَلَّقَهَا زَيْدٌ {زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا}

✧ Concerning His saying {And when you said to the one whom God had blessed and you had blessed}, he said, "God blessed him with Islam, and the Prophet ﷺ blessed him with manumission." {Keep your wife}, Qatadah said: Zayd came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Zaynab's tongue has become harsh toward me, and I want to divorce her." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Fear God and keep your wife." The Prophet ﷺ wanted him to divorce her, but he feared what people would say if he commanded him to divorce her, so God revealed: {And you concealed within yourself what God was to disclose, and you feared the people, while God has more right that you fear Him. So when Zayd had accomplished his desire from her}. He said: When Zayd divorced her, {We married her to you}.
