حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا غَالِبُ بْنُ قَائِدٍ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَتْ لَنَا شَاةٌ فَمَاتَتْ فَطَرَحْنَاهَا فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَفَلَا انْتَفَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا؟» فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا فَسَلَخْنَا جِلْدَهَا ثُمَّ دَبَغْنَاهُ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سُقْيًا فَشَرِبْنَا فِيهِ حَتَّى صَارَ شَنًّا

✧ We had a sheep that died, so we threw it away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said, 'Why did you not make use of its hide?' We sent for it, skinned it, tanned the hide, and made it into a water skin. We drank from it until it became an old worn-out skin.
