حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ ثنا أَبِي أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ كُرَيْبًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ تَقُولُ أَعْتَقْتُ وَلِيدَتِي فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «لَوْ أُعْطِيتِهَا أَخْوَالَكِ كَانَ أَعْظَمَ لِأَجْرِكِ»

✧ I heard Maymunah say: I manumitted my slave girl during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, “Had you given her to your maternal uncles, it would have been greater for your reward.”
