حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ قَالَتْ
مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِشَاةٍ لِمَوْلَاةٍ لِمَيْمُونَةَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَتْهَا مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ مَيْتَةٍ فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَخَذُوا إِهَابَهَا فَدَبَغُوهُ فَانْتَفَعُوا بِهِ؟» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ فَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by a dead sheep belonging to a female client of Maymunah, which had been given to her from charity. He said, "Why did they not take its hide and tan it and benefit from it?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is dead." He said, "Only its eating is forbidden."
