حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ثنا عَمِّي ثنا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْأَعْرَجِ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ
أَنَّ نُدْبَةَ مَوْلَاةِ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ أَرْسَلْتَهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُخْتِهَا قَالَتْ فَجِئْتُهُ فَوَجَدْتُهُ قَدْ عَزَلَ فِرَاشَهُ عَنْ فِرَاشِ امْرَأَتِهِ بِنْتِ مِشْرَحٍ فَقَالَتْ أَيْنَ هُوَ أَمُغَاضِبٍ هُوَ امْرَأَتَهُ؟ قِيلَ لَا وَلَكِنَّهَا إِذَا حَاضَتِ اعْتَزَلَهَا قَالَتْ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مَيْمُونَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا كَيْفَ وَجَدْتُهُ قَالَتْ ادْعِيهِ لِي فَدَعَوْتُهُ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ أَتَرْغَبُ عَمَّا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَاللهِ «كَانَ لَيُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ يَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ الْفَخِذَيْنِ أَوِ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ»

✧ Nudbah, the freed slave woman of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, informed him that Maymunah sent her to 'Abd Allah b. 'Abbas, who was the son of her sister. She said: "I went to him and found him having separated his bed from the bed of his wife, the daughter of Mishrah. She said: 'Where is he? Is he angry with his wife?' It was said: 'No, but when she menstruates, he distances himself from her.' She said: 'So I returned to Maymunah and informed her how I found him.' She said: 'Call him for me.' So I called him for her, and she said: 'Do you turn away from what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do? By Allah, he used to be intimate with a woman from among his wives when she had a waist-wrapper reaching to the middle of the thighs or the knees.'"
