حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ خَالَتِهِ مَيْمُونَةَ
أَنَّهَا أُهْدِيَ لَهَا ضَبٌّ فَأَتَاهَا رَجُلَانِ مِنْ قَوْمِهَا فَأَمَرَتْ بِهِ فَصُنِعَ ثُمَّ قَرَّبَتْهُ إِلَيْهِمَا فَجَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُمَا يَأْكُلَانِ فَرَحَّبَ بِهِمَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ لِيَأْكُلَ فَلَمَّا أَخَذَ اللُّقْمَةَ إِلَى فِيهِ قَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» قَالَ ضَبٌّ أُهْدِيَ لَنَا قَالَتْ فَوَضَعَ اللُّقْمَةَ وَأَرَادَ الرَّجُلَانِ يَطْرَحَانِ مَا فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَفْعَلَا إِنَّكُمْ أَهْلَ نَجْدٍ تَأْكُلُونَهَا وَإِنَّا أَهْلَ تِهَامَةَ نَعَافُهَا»

✧ A dabb lizard was gifted to Maymuna. Two men from her people came to her, so she ordered it to be prepared and served it to them. Then the Prophet of God ﷺ came while they were eating. He welcomed them, then he took some food to eat. When he brought a morsel to his mouth, he said, "What is this?" They said, "A dabb lizard that was gifted to us." She said: He put down the morsel, and the two men wanted to throw away what was in their mouths, but the Messenger of God ﷺ said, "Do not do that. You are people of Najd and you eat it, but we are people of Tihamah and we find it repulsive."
