حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا عُثْمَانُ قَالَا ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ مُوسَى عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
«وَالَّذِي تَحْلِفُ بِهِ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ إِنْ كَانَ أَقْرَبُ النَّاسِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلِيًّا كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِ عَائِشَةَ فَكُنْتُ آخِرَ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ جَلَسْنَا أَدْنَى مِنَ الْبَابِ وَأَكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ عَلِيٌّ فَكَانَ آخِرَ النَّاسِ بِهِ عَهْدًا يُسَارُّهُ وَيُنَاجِيهِ»

✧ By the One by whom Umm Salamah swears, the closest of people to the Messenger of God ﷺ was Ali. We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ in the house of Aishah, and I was the last to leave the house. Then we sat down closer to the door, and Ali leaned over him. He was the last of the people to have a private conversation with him, whispering to him and confiding in him.
