حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى وَعَبْدَانُ قَالَا ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا سَالِمٌ الْخَيَّاطُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ «يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَكْثَرَ مَا تَدْعُو بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ؟ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ إِنَّ قَلْبَ ابْنِ آدَمَ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ إِذَا شَاءَ أَقَامَهُ وَإِذَا شَاءَ أَزَاغَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say often: 'O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how often you supplicate with this supplication!' He said: 'O Umm Salamah, indeed the heart of the son of Adam is between two fingers of the fingers of the Lord of the worlds; if He wills, He makes it upright, and if He wills, He causes it to deviate.'
