حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ أَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ ثنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
مَا نَسِيتُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ أَثَرًا عِنْدَ صَدْرِهِ وَهُوَ يُعَاطِيهِمُ اللَّبَنَ وَيَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ الْخَيْرُ خَيْرُ الْآخِرَةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَةِ» فَلَمَّا رَآهُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا ابْنَ سُمَيَّةَ تَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ»

✧ I have not forgotten on the Day of the Trench a trace on his chest as he was handing them the milk and saying: "O Allah, the true good is the good of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun." When he saw him—meaning the Prophet ﷺ—he said: "O Ibn Sumayyah, the transgressing party will kill you."
