حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ تَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا ظَهَرَتِ الْمَعَاصِي فِي أُمَّتِي عَمَّهُمُ اللهُ بِعَذَابٍ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمَا فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاسٌ صَالِحُونَ قَالَ «بَلَى» قُلْتُ فَكَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ أُولَئِكَ؟ قَالَ «يُصِيبُهُمْ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ يَصِيرُونَ إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِنَ اللهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ» «لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “When sins become widespread in my Ummah, Allah will envelop them all in punishment.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, will there not be righteous people among the people on that day?” He said, “Yes.” I said, “Then what will happen to them?” He said, “What befalls the people will befall them, and then they will attain forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure.” This is the wording of the hadith of Abu al-Rabi'.
