حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِ غَدَاةً فَيُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَكَانَتْ مِنْهُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ عِنْدَهَا عَسَلٌ وَكَانَ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا أَحَضَرَتْ لَهُ مِنْهُ فَمَكَثَ عِنْدَهَا كَذَلِكَ وَإِنَّ عَائِشَةَ وَحَفْصَةَ وَجَدَا مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَا حِينَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّا نَجْدُ مِنْكَ رِيحَ مَعَافِيرَ فَتَرَكَ ذَلِكَ الْعَسَلَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter upon his wives in the morning and greet them. Among them was a woman who had honey, and every time he entered upon her she would offer him some of it, so he would stay with her like that. Aishah and Hafsah were upset by that, so when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon them they said, “We detect the smell of maghafir from you.” So he abandoned that honey.
