حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسًا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فِي بَيْتِي فَقَالَ «لَا يَدْخُلْ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ» فَانْتَظَرْتُ فَدَخَلَ الْحُسَيْنُ فَسَمِعْتُ نَشِيجَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَبْكِي فَاطَّلَعْتُ فَإِذَا الْحُسَيْنُ فِي حِجْرِهِ أَوْ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ يَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهُ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي فَقُلْتُ وَاللهِ مَا عَلِمْتُهُ حِينَ دَخَلَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ أَتُحِبُّهُ؟ قُلْتُ أَمَّا فِي الدُّنْيَا فَنَعَمْ قَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ سَتَقْتُلُ هَذَا بِأَرْضٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا كَرْبَلَاءُ فَتَنَاوَلَ جِبْرِيلُ مِنْ تُرْبَتِهَا فَأَرَاهُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أُحِيطَ بِالْحُسَيْنِ حِينَ قُتِلَ قَالَ مَا اسْمُ هَذِهِ الْأَرْضِ؟ قَالُوا كَرْبَلَاءُ قَالَ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْضُ كَرِبٍ وَبَلَاءٍ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting one day in my house and said: "Let no one enter upon me." I waited, and Husayn entered. I heard the sobbing of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weeping. I looked, and there was Husayn in his lap or beside him, and he was wiping his head and weeping. I said: "By Allah, I did not know when he entered." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Jibril was in the house and said: 'Do you love him?' I said: 'In this world, yes.' He said: 'Your community will kill this one in a land called Karbala.' Jibril took some of its soil and showed it to the Prophet ﷺ. When Husayn was surrounded and killed, he said: 'What is the name of this land?' They said: 'Karbala.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth: a land of grief and affliction.'"
