حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ وَعُثْمَانُ قَالُوا ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ
أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ لَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قُلْتُ غَرَبَتْ فِي أَرْضٍ غُرْبَةً لَأَبْكِيَنَّهُ بُكَاءً يُتَحَدَّثُ عَنْهُ قَالَتْ فَإِنِّي لَكَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَتَتْنِي امْرَأَةٌ تُسْعِدُنِي مِنَ الصَّعِيدِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تُدْخِلِي الشَّيْطَانَ بَيْتًا قَدْ أَخْرَجَهُ اللهُ مِنْهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ» قَالَتْ فَتَرَكْتُهُ وَلَمْ أَبْكِهِ

✧ Umm Salamah: When Abu Salamah died in Madinah, I said: 'She has become a stranger in a strange land; I will weep for him with a weeping that will be talked about.' She said: 'While I was thus, a woman from the highlands came to console me, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met her and said: 'Do you want to let Satan enter a house from which Allah has expelled him twice?' She said: 'So I left off weeping and did not weep for him.'
