حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتَا «مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ إِلَّا شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصِلُهُ بِرَمَضَانَ فَيَكُونُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ الشَّهْرَ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ»

✧ From A'isha and Umm Salama, they said: The Prophet ﷺ did not fast any month other than Ramadan except Sha'ban, for he used to connect it to Ramadan so that it became two consecutive months. And he would fast a month until we said he would not break his fast, and he would break his fast until we said he would not fast.
