حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا سِنَانُ بْنُ هَارُونَ الْبُرْجُمِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ

أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنَّا يَكُونُ لَهَا زَوْجَانِ ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ فَتَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ وَزَوْجَاهَا لِأَيِّهِمَا تَكُونُ لِلْأَوَّلِ أَوْ لِلْآخَرِ؟ قَالَ «تَخَيَّرُ أَحْسَنَهُمَا خُلُقًا كَانَ مَعَهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا يَكُونُ زَوْجَهَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ يَا أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ ذَهَبَ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ بِخَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ»

✧ Umm Ḥabībah said: O Messenger of Allah, a woman among us may have two husbands, then she dies and enters Paradise, she and her two husbands. To which of them will she belong, to the first or the last? He said: 'She will choose the one who had the best character with her in this world; he will be her husband in Paradise. O Umm Ḥabībah, good character takes away the good of this world and the Hereafter.'
