حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ثنا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ قَالَ

لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ عِنْدِي أَحْسَنُ نِسَاءِ الْعَرَبِ وَأَجْمَلُهُ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أُزَوِّجُكَهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ وَمُعَاوِيَةُ تَتَّخِذُهُ كَاتِبًا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»

✧ [It was said] to the Prophet ﷺ: 'I have the best and most beautiful women of the Arabs: Umm Ḥabībah bt. Abī Sufyān. Shall I marry you to her?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'And Muʿāwiyah you take as a scribe?' He said, 'Yes.'
