✧ The Sermon of Aisha

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طَاهِرِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ طَلَّقَ حَفْصَةَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَوَضَعَ التُّرَابَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ «مَا يَعْبَأُ اللهُ بِكَ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ بَعْدَهَا» فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُرَاجِعَ حَفْصَةَ رَحْمَةً لِعُمَرَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ divorced Hafsah, and that reached ‘Umar b. al-Khattab, so he placed dust on his head and said, “God will not care about you, O Ibn al-Khattab, after this.” Then Gabriel descended upon the Prophet ﷺ and said, “God commands you to take Hafsah back out of mercy for ‘Umar.”
