أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَنِيِّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ {لَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ} «يُرِيدُ أَفَلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ» {ظَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا هَذَا إِفْكٌ مُبِينٌ} وَذَلِكَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَشَارَ فِيهَا فَقَالُوا خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا كَذِبٌ وَزُورٌ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُرِيدُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ وَبَرِيرَةَ مَوْلَاةَ عَائِشَةَ وَجَمِيعَ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا هَذَا كَذِبٌ عَظِيمٌ

Translation

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ consulted about her, and they said good, and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is a lie and falsehood," and the believing women—he means Zaynab bt. Jahsh and Barirah, the freedwoman of A'ishah, and all the wives of the Prophet ﷺ—said, "This is a great lie."
