✧ Interpretation of the saying of Allah "{For each individual among them is what he has earned of sin}

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ {وَالَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ} يَعْنِي «عِظَمَهُ» {مِنْهُمْ} يَعْنِي الْقَذَفَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُبَيٍّ رَأْسُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ هُوَ الَّذِي قَالَ

«مَا بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ وَمَا بَرِئَ مِنْهَا» {لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ} «وَفِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ عِبْرَةٌ لِجَمِيعِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِذَا كَانتَ فِيهِمْ خَطِيئَةٌ مِمَّنْ أَعَانَ عَلَيْهَا بِفِعْلٍ أَوْ كَلَامٍ أَوْ عَرَّضَ بِهَا أَوْ أَعْجَبَهُ ذَلِكَ أَوْ رَضِيَ فَهُوَ فِي تِلْكَ الْخَطِيئَةِ على قَدْرَ مَا كَانَ مِنْهُمْ وَإِذَا كَانَتْ خَطِيئَةٌ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَمَنْ شَهِدَ وَكَرِهَ فَهُوَ مِثْلُ الْغَائِبِ وَمَنْ غَابَ وَرَضِيَ فَهُوَ مِثْلُ الشَّاهِدِ»

✧ "She was not innocent of him nor was he innocent of her." {For him is a great punishment}: "And in this verse there is a lesson for all Muslims: when there is a sin among them by someone who assisted it by deed or word or alluded to it or was pleased by it or approved it, then he shares in that sin according to the measure of what came from him. And when a sin occurs among the Muslims, then one who witnessed it and disliked it is like one who was absent, and one who was absent and approved it is like one who witnessed it."
