✧ Interpretation of the saying of Allah, "Indeed, those who brought the falsehood.

حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ

عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ جَاءُوا بِالْإِفْكِ} يَعْنِي الْكَذِبَ قَالَ «هَذَا فِي شَأْنِ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَفِيمَا أُذِيعَ عَلَيْهَا وَقِيلَ لَهَا»

✧ From Qatadah regarding His saying, Exalted is He: {Indeed, those who brought the falsehood} meaning the lie. He said, "This concerns Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, and what was spread about her and said to her."
