حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِمًا مَعَ صَاحِبِ فَرَسٍ أَبْيَضَ أَخَذَ بِمَعْرِفَةِ فَرَسِهِ فَلَمَّا أَتَانِي قُلْتُ مَنْ صَاحِبُ الْفَرَسِ؟ قَالَ «وَقَدْ رَأَيْتِيهِ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَمَنْ يُشْبِهُهُ؟» قُلْتُ دِحْيَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ الْكَلْبِيُّ قَالَ «ذَاكَ جِبْرِيلُ وَهُوَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ» قُلْتُ وَعَلَى مَنْ أَرْسَلَهُ وَعَلَيْكَ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ

✧ I heard Aisha say: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing with the rider of a white horse, holding the horse's forelock. When he came to me, I said, 'Who is the rider of the horse?' He said, 'So you saw him?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'And whom does he resemble?' I said, 'Dihyah b. Khalifah al-Kalbi.' He said, 'That was Jibril, and he conveys greetings to you.' I said, 'And upon him whom he sent, and upon you and upon him be peace.'
