✧ Abu Jubayrah b. al-Dahhak: Among us this verse was revealed, meaning the Banu Salamah. The Messenger of God ﷺ came to Madinah, and there was no man among us but had two or three names. When a man was called by a name, they would say: "O Messenger of God, he dislikes this." So it was revealed: {And do not call each other by offensive nicknames} - the verse.
