حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ
عَنْ أَبِي نُحَيْلَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ رُمِيَ بِسَهْمٍ فَقِيلَ لَهُ انْزِعْهُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ انْقُصْ مِنَ الْوَجَعِ وَلَا تَنْقُصْ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ» فَقِيلَ لَهُ ادْعُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَاجْعَلْ أُمِّي مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ»

✧ From Abu Nuhaylah, a man from among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, that he was struck by an arrow, and it was said to him, “Pull it out.” He said: “O Allah, decrease the pain but do not decrease the reward.” It was said to him, “Make supplication.” He said: “O Allah, make me among those brought near, and make my mother among the fair maidens with wide, lovely eyes (al-hur al-ʿin).”
