حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَاجِرِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ قَالَ

قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا ذَهَبْتُ لِأَخْرُجَ قَالَ «انْتَظَرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ» قُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ «أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ from a journey and greeted him. When I went to leave, he said: "Wait for lunch, O Abu Umayyah." I said: "I am fasting, O Prophet of Allah." He said: "I inform you about the traveler: Allah has waived fasting and half of the prayer for him."
