حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ كَنَحْوٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمُ الَّتِي تُصَلُّونَ الْيَوْمَ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ يُخَفِّفُ كَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ أَخَفَّ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ الْوَاقِعَةَ وَنَحْوَهَا مِنَ السُّوَرِ»

✧ He heard Jabir b. Samurah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the prayers similar to the way you pray today, but he would make them light. His prayer was lighter than your prayer. He used to recite in the dawn prayer al-Waqi'ah and surahs like it.
