حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ يُخْبِرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا حَبَّةَ «§يُفْتِي النَّاسَ

أَنَّهُ لَا بَأْسَ بِمَا رَمَى بِهِ الرَّجُلُ فِي الْجِمَارِ مِنَ الْحَصَى يَعْنِي مِنْ عَدَدِهِ» قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَبُو حَبَّةَ وَكَانَ أَبُو حَبَّةَ بَدْرِيًّا

✧ There is no harm in what a man throws at the jamarat of pebbles, meaning as to their number." 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr b. 'Uthman said: I mentioned that to 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr, and he said: Abu Habbah spoke the truth, and Abu Habbah was a Badri.
