حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عِقَالٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ مَنْزِلَةٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ وَفِي مَالِهِ وَفِي وَلَدِهِ ثُمَّ صَبَّرَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْمَنْزِلَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ»

✧ From his grandfather, who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “When a servant has a station with Allah that he cannot attain by his deeds, Allah afflicts him in his body, his wealth, or his children, then gives him patience over that until he reaches the station that was preordained for him from Allah, may He be glorified.”
