حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ نا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِيهِمْ شَيْءٌ فَاحْتَبَسَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا حَبَسَكَ؟» قَالَ قَرَأْتُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ} قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ»

Translation

✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: “What kept you?” He said: “I recited this verse: {O you who believe, take care of your own selves; those who have gone astray will not harm you if you are guided}.” The Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Those among the disbelievers who go astray will not harm you if you are guided.”
