حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَوَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَيْنِيِّ

أَنَّ سَرِقَ اشْتَرَى مِنْ رَجُلٍ قَدْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ بَزًّا قَدِمَ بِهِ فَتَجَارَاهُ فَتَغَيَّبَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ ظَفِرَ بِهِ فَأَتَى بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «بِعْ سَرِقَ» قَالَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ بِهِ فَسَاوَمَنِي بِهِ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ بَدَا لِي فَأَعْتَقْتُهُ

✧ Sariq bought from a man who had recited Surah al-Baqarah some cloth that he had brought, and they haggled. Then the man disappeared, but he later caught up with him and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Sell, O Sariq." He said: "I went with him and the Prophet's companions bargained with me for him for three days. Then it occurred to me, so I set him free."
