حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ يَعِيشَ الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ

دَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِنَاقَةٍ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ مَنْ يَحْلُبُهَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا قَالَ مَا اسْمُكَ قَالَ مُرَّةُ قَالَ اقْعُدْ ثُمَّ قَامَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ مَا اسْمُكَ قَالَ مُرَّةَ قَالَ اقْعُدْ ثُمَّ قَامَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ مَا اسْمُكَ قَالَ جَمْرَةُ قَالَ اقْعُدْ ثُمَّ قَامَ يَعِيشُ فَقَالَ مَا اسْمُكَ قَالَ يَعِيشُ قَالَ احْلُبْهَا

✧ One day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a she-camel and said, “Who will milk her?” A man said, “I will.” He said, “What is your name?” He said, “Murra (bitter).” He said, “Sit down.” Then another stood up, and he said, “What is your name?” He said, “Murra.” He said, “Sit down.” Then another stood up, and he said, “What is your name?” He said, “Jamra (ember).” He said, “Sit down.” Then Ya‘īsh stood up, and he said, “What is your name?” He said, “Ya‘īsh (he lives).” He said, “Milk her.”
