حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ

مَرَرْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَنَا مُتَخَلِّقٌ فَقَالَ يَا يَعْلَى أَلَكَ امْرَأَةٌ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَاذْهَبْ فَاغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ لَا تَعُدْ قَالَ فَغَسَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ لَمْ أَعُدْ

✧ I passed by the Prophet ﷺ wearing khaluq. He said, “O Ya'la, do you have a wife?” I said, “No.” He said, “Go and wash it, then wash it, then wash it, then do not do it again.” He said: So I washed it, then washed it, then washed it, then never did it again.
