✧ From Yazid b. Shajarah, and Yazid b. Shajarah was one whose word and deed were trusted. He said: He gave us a sermon and said: O people, remember the blessing of Allah upon you. How excellent is the blessing of Allah upon you! You see among green, yellow, and red, and in the saddles there is what there is. He used to say: When the people form rows for prayer and are arrayed for battle, the gates of heaven are opened, as are the gates of Paradise and the gates of Hell, and the wide-eyed houris are adorned and look out. When a man advances, they say: 'O Allah, grant him victory.' When he retreats, they veil themselves from him and say: 'O Allah, forgive him.' So strike hard at the faces of the enemy, may my father and mother be your ransom, and do not disgrace the houris. For the first drop of his blood that is shed atones for every sin he has committed, and two wives from the wide-eyed houris descend to him, wiping the dust from his face and saying: 'Your time has come.' And he replies: 'Your time has come.' Then he is clothed in one hundred garments, not of the weaving of the children of Adam but of the vegetation of Paradise, which, if placed between two fingers, would be spacious enough. He also used to say: I have been informed that swords are the keys to Paradise. This wording is from 'Abd al-Samad b. Hassan.
