حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ السَّكَنِ ثَنَا أَبُو قَحْذَمٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ
أَنَّ أَبَا ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَا بِأَرْضٍ أَهْلُهَا أَهْلُ كِتَابٍ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُومَ الْخَنَازِيرِ وَيَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ فَكَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنَا فِي آنِيَتِهِمْ وَقُدُورِهِمْ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ وَجَدْتُمْ غَيْرَهَا فَخُذُوهَا وَإِلَّا فَارْحَضُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ كُلُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا»

✧ Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land whose people are People of the Book; they eat the flesh of swine and drink wine. How do you command us regarding their vessels and cooking pots?” He said, “If you find other vessels, use them; otherwise, wash them with water, then eat and drink in them.”
