حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَبْرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدِ اللهِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّا نُجَاوِرُ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ وَإِنَّهُمْ يَطْبُخُونَ فِي قُدُورِهِمْ لَحْمَ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَيَشْرَبُونَ فِي آنِيَتِهِمُ الْخَمْرَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ وَجَدْتُمْ غَيْرَهَا فَكُلُوا فِيهِ وَاشْرَبُوا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا غَيْرَهَا فَارْحَضُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ كُلُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا»

✧ He informed him that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: "We live as neighbors to the People of the Book, and they cook pork in their pots and drink wine from their vessels." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If you find other than them, then eat in them and drink. And if you do not find other than them, wash them with water, then eat in them and drink."
