✧ He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who raised his gaze and lowered it, then said: 'A small calamity.' Abu Tha'labah said: 'A small calamity of good or a small calamity of evil?' He said: 'A small calamity of good.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land with game. What is lawful for us from it and what is forbidden to us?' He said: 'The domestic donkey and every beast of prey with fangs are forbidden. Whatever your bow and your trained dog bring back to you is lawful for you.' Then he asked him about something concerning the People of the Book and their vessels. He said: 'If you find an alternative to them, do not approach them. If you need them, wash them, then eat and drink in them.'
