✧ Hani bin Niyyar bin Amr bin Ubaid bin Kilab bin Duhman bin Ghanim bin Dhibyan bin Kahil bin Dihil bin Baliyy bin Amr bin al-Haf bin Quda'ah, Abu Burdah al-Balawi, Halif of Banu Harithah bin al-Khazraj, Aqabi, Badri and he is the uncle of Bara' bin Azib.

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سَرِيعٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ عَنْ خَالِهِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ

أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَمَضَيْتُ بِهِ إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ فَقُلْتُ لِلْجَارِيَةِ أَطْعِمِينَا مِنْ لَحْمِ أُضْحِيَتِكِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِأُضْحِيَةٍ إِنَّمَا هِي شَاةُ لَحْمٍ إِنَّمَا الْأُضْحِيَّةُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا رَبِيبَةً لَنَا جَذَعَةً أَفَأُضَحِّي بِهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَا تُجْزِئُ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»

✧ I took the hand of the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Sacrifice and went with him to the house. I said to the servant girl: Feed us from the meat of your sacrificial animal. He said: "It is not a sacrificial animal; it is only a sheep for meat. The sacrificial animal is only after the prayer." I said: O Messenger of God, we have a fosterling of ours, a jadha'ah. Should I sacrifice it? He said: "Yes, but it will not suffice for anyone after you."
