✧ Hani bin Niyyar bin Amr bin Ubaid bin Kilab bin Duhman bin Ghanim bin Dhibyan bin Kahil bin Dihil bin Baliyy bin Amr bin al-Haf bin Quda'ah, Abu Burdah al-Balawi, Halif of Banu Harithah bin al-Khazraj, Aqabi, Badri and he is the uncle of Bara' bin Azib.

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَثْوَيَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ قَالَ عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي بِشْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِي أَخُو أُمِّي

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «فِي أَوَّلِ نُسُكِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ لِيَوْمِ النَّحْرِ صَلَاةٌ ثُمَّ النَّحْرُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ» فَمَشَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي ذَبَحْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ وَعِنْدِي عَتَاقٌ ابْنُ جَذَعَةَ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ لَحْمِ شَاتَيْنِ أَفَأَذْبَحُهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَا تَفِي عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "In the first rite of this day, the Day of Sacrifice, there is prayer, then sacrifice after the prayer." I went to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, I slaughtered before praying, and I have a jadha'ah from 'Ataq that is dearer to me than the meat of two sheep. Should I slaughter it? He said: "Yes, but it will not suffice for anyone after you."
