حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَا ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَايَ وَأَبْصَرَتْ عَيْنَايَ حِينَ تَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتُهُ» قَالُوا وَمَا جَائِزَتُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثٌ وَمَا كَانَ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يَثْوِي عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُخْرِجَهُ» وَقَالَ «وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخَرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ»

✧ My two ears heard it and my two eyes saw it when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke and said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest, his reward." They said: "And what is his reward, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "A day and a night. Hospitality is three [days], and whatever is beyond that is charity for him. He should not stay with him until he turns him out." And he said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent."
