حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ

اشْتَدَّتِ الْجِرَاحَاتُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَشَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْجِرَاحَاتِ فَقَالَ «احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا» فَقَدَّمُوا أَبِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَجُلَيْنِ

✧ The wounds were severe on the day of Uhud, so they complained to the Messenger of God ﷺ about the wounds. He said: "Dig graves, make them wide, make them good, and bury two or three in the grave, and put forward the one who knows the most Qur'an." So they put my father forward in front of two men.
