حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا هَوْبَرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا وَحْشِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ وَحْشِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا مَاتَ النَّجَاشِيُّ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ قُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ مَاتَ فِي كُفْرِهِ؟ قَالَ أَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ إِلَى قَوْلِ اللهِ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ {وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لِمَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Your brother the Najashi has died, so stand up and pray for him.” A man said, “O Messenger of God, how can we pray for him when he died in his disbelief?” He said, “Do you not hear the words of God, Mighty and Majestic: ‘And indeed among the People of the Book are those who believe in God and in what has been sent down to you and in what was sent down to them’ to the end of the verse?”
